How often do we need a massage?

It is recommended that we all need to book for a massage regular, the benefits from massage do not last forever hence why we need to keep up dated to not out run our body. I always get asked how regular should you have a massage? which can be hard to answer as this differs from person to person. Hopefully this will give you a little insight to how often you may need to book in. Feeling drained and tired all the time? Stiffness moving on a morning or evening time? Troubles sleeping and getting comfortable on a night? Restricted movement due to tight muscles Tension headaches Shortened temper due to stress Aches and pains If any of the above applied to you then you are in desperate need of a massage... You will probably be suffering from aches and pains and more than likely this will be due to a build up of tension. Tension can be broken down and drained to lymphatic nodes allowing your muscles is feel more free and redeemed of aches and pains however this can not always be achieved from one visit. I always advice that you may need a more regular massage to start with until the tension has broken down more and is under control and then you would not need a massage as frequent but still regular enough to not allow the tension to build up again like before... Again how frequent to start off with depends on how bad the tension is. If you have had a long period of build up you find your body adjust to the pain so you actually get used to it, more often than not everyone's tension is worse than they thought and they don't realise this till they are on the massage bed. The best advise to someone who is really suffering with aches and pains is to see how you feel in a weeks time after the massage, You will probably want to book in either 1 to 2 weeks after your first visit. Once your tension is easing off you will notice your massage benefits lasting longer meaning you will no longer require your massage sessions as frequent. I always quote "you know your body the best" so listen to how you feel and you will know how frequent you need a massage. If you do not suffer with tensions or aches and pains a regular massage would still be of great benefit to you. In the modern world we live in there seems to be so much pressure, weather you are a full time employed, student, a parent or even retired the world seems to be moving so fast we all feel the stress, Stress builds up in our bodies, without realising we hold our arms tightly which then causes our shoulder to be tenses causing unwanted tension. Sometimes we can carry tension and not even know, the aches and pains only come with prolonged tension issues. A regular massage allows the body to relax properly and naturally remove this tension which results in you feeling so great after a session. Usually clients tend to book in monthly but I also have clients that switch from 5-6 weeks depending on how they are feeling. Hopefully this has given you some encouragement to look after your body and to not only do it every so often as a treat but to keep up to it.
