What Is a good Skin care routine

Updated: Sep 8, 2020

During a very different period of living we are all having to slow down and appreciate the smaller things in life. Our usual self care habits which can be anything from going for a relaxing massage treatment to meeting friends in the pub, currently has had to stop. It means we are having to look at other ways to entertain our self and those we live with. I have seen numerous post's of baking, although regular bakers are not too happy with the current baking aisle constantly been raided, I think its lovely that everyone is taking up new things that they may never normally have time for. I have clients that are starting to take up skin care at home after missing their treatments. Its amazing what a few aromas and creams can do for not only the skin but the mind too. I offer free skin care consultations that can easily be done over the phone, I can then advise you on what would be best for your skin. Alternatively you can request a "Neals Yard Remedies" catalogue that contains a guide on how to determine your skin type. I have adapted Neal’s Yard Workshop Parties to do online, Perfect excuse for a virtual drink with friends whilst you also carry our a follow along facial with skin care testers sent out in the post. _ click the link for more details " Hosting Neals Yard Remedies Workshop Online"

A good basic skin care routine consists of the following:

o Cleanse --- Both AM and PM

o Exfoliate --- Weekly

o Face Mask --- Weekly

o Toner --- Both AM and PM

o Moisturiser --- Both Am and PM

Once you have got into this basic routine you can then add in other products which may concentrate on your concerned areas.

o Night Creams --- PM for extra nourishment and hydration, good for anti-ageing

o Serums --- These can be used AM and PM under a moisturiser different serums can help with different skin types.

o Eye creams --- these are usually underused as majority of people tend to us their face moisturiser however this can cause puffiness and irritation as the skin is so delicate in the eye area it needs a product that is a lot lighter.

o Face Oils --- these can also be used under a moisturiser like serums but are not ideal to use in the morning if you wear makeup. They can be slightly heavier than serums, good way to give yourself a facial massage to lift and stimulate the skin.

Anyone that has ever had any skin concerns will know using the correct products consistently works wonders. If you are like me and want to test the products before you buy please message 07585704583 with a description on what your interested in testing. I also do a free facial pack in which can be sent out with a full follow along guide on how to use the products. Perfect for those people not wanting to bare the camera in front of friends.
